A Moving Target in a SAR Image Analysed with Time-Frequency Methods

چکیده

Moving targets within SAR scenes are distorted depending on the particulars of the target motion. For small motions, the uncompensated phase of a point reflector is a sum of a term proportional to the range component of the target motion, and a more complicated term depending on the azimuth motion. The resulting phase may be analysed with time-frequency techniques since the motion effect may alternatively be seen as a time dependent Doppler frequency. An experiment performed with a moving target within a scene collected by the German ESAR system gave a signature that agrees well with theoretical predictions. Time-frequency analysis, using the smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville method, gave a linear chirp with superimposed oscillations as predicted from the theory and the target motion.

Extending SAR Image Despckling methods for ViSAR Denoising

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is widely used in different weather conditions for various applications such as mapping, remote sensing, urban, civil and military monitoring. Recently, a new radar sensor called Video SAR (ViSAR) has been developed to capture sequential frames from moving objects for environmental monitoring applications. Same as SAR images, the major problem of ViSAR is the pres...

ISAR Image Improvement Using STFT Kernel Width Optimization Based On Minimum Entropy Criterion

Nowadays, Radar systems have many applications and radar imaging is one of the most important of these applications. Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is used to form an image from moving targets. Conventional methods use Fourier transform to retrieve Doppler information. However, because of maneuvering of the target, the Doppler spectrum becomes time-varying and the image is blurred. Joi...

Moving Target Detection on SAR Images

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a well known technique for generating high-resolution images stationary scenes but it is not adapted to imaging moving targets as the movement of a target induces both a delocalization and a defocusing effect in a SAR image. The aim of this paper is to analyse the signatures of moving targets in SAR images and to present techniques to detect them, from one sing...

Detection of Moving Target in Wideband Sar Using Fast Time Backprojection Processing

ABSTRACT A likelihood ratio test is proposed for moving target detection in an ultra wide frequency band and wide antenna beam (wide band) SAR system. The developed method combines time domain fast backprojection SAR processing methods with moving target detection. It saves computational load when all relative speeds can be tested using the same clutter suppressed sub-aperture beams. The propos...
